A squeal or grinding on the way up, usually loudest right around where the door crosses the bend from the horizontal track into the vertical section. Sometimes it's a rhythmic thump - one bad roller knocking against the track once per revolution, which is a different sound than a general squeak and tells us it's one roller, not the whole set.
On houses from this era in Placentia, we also see doors that visibly wobble side to side as they travel, which usually means a roller has worn down enough that it's loose in the track rather than riding it snugly. If the door hesitates or jerks at one specific spot every time, that's often a single roller that's about to come apart rather than a motor problem, and it's worth a call before it does.
